The Cambridge History of Philosophy 1870-1945 comprises over sixty specially commissioned essays by experts on the philosophy of this period. The first part of the book traces the history of philosophy from the 1870s through to the early years of the twentieth century. After a brief discussion of the impact of the First World War, the second part of the book describes further developments in philosophy in the first half of the twentieth century. The essays concentrate on developments across the range of philosophical topics, from logic and metaphysics to political philosophy and philosophy of religion. 2 line diagrams 1 half-tone Contributors: Thomas Baldwin, Rom HarrŽ, Christopher Adair-Toteff, Jim Allard, David Bakhurst, F.C.T.
